Job Summary
Provide inpatient palliative care consultations and direct care for admitted hospice patients at Emory University Hospital. Manage outpatient follow-ups, facilitate goals-of-care discussions, and establish written plans of care with the interdisciplinary team. Serve as attending physician and medical director for inpatient hospice, participate in weekly team meetings, and rotate on-call coverage for hospice and palliative patients. Supervise advanced practice providers, fellows, residents, and medical students on clinical rotations. Devote 1-25% of effort to scholarship and 1-25% to teaching, while maintaining 184 clinical days annually. Adhere to confidentiality and assist in developing standard operating practices.
Required Qualifications
- Board certified or eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
- ≥80% inpatient assignment
- up to 20% outpatient practice
- 184 clinical days per year
- target of 160 weekdays and 24 weekend days per year
