Job Summary
Tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Clinical Psychology to begin Fall 2027 (Spring 2027 start possible for some candidates). Teach graduate courses in Clinical Psychology and related programs, contribute to the development of a PsyD in Clinical/School Psychology, and participate in program development, research, and clinical supervision. Responsibilities include developing and sustaining an external-funding-supported research program, mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, teaching courses such as Psychopathology, Abnormal Psychology, Personality Psychology, and Assessment at the graduate level (online and on-campus), developing curricula, advising graduate students, providing clinical supervision to master-level student clinicians, and participating in departmental and university service and governance. Requirements include a Ph.D./PsyD in Clinical Psychology or closely related field by Fall 2027, evidence of effective graduate teaching, scholarly productivity, and strong communication and collaboration skills. Preferred: licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in Texas, university teaching experience (including online teaching) and experience supervising graduate students.
Required Qualifications
- PsyD or Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or closely related field by Fall 2027
- Evidence of effective teaching or teaching potential at the graduate level
- Evidence of scholarly productivity and potential for continued research productivity
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Dedication to high standards of ethical practice in psychology
