Job Summary
Assistant Product Designer for Apparel at Disney Consumer Products. Supports the Apparel Product Design team with concept, design, sketching, prototyping, and presenting trend-right consumer-centric products across Adult, Youth, and Infant apparel. Roles include assisting with art-to-product and sample creation, design presentations (boards, line review decks), coordinating product submissions for reviews, maintaining product and market samples, filing duplicates, and supporting the PLM/design development tools. Requires collaboration with internal/external partners, awareness of market dynamics, and strong communication. This is a full-time role reporting to the Manager- Product Design. A digital portfolio is required for review.
Required Qualifications
- Entry level Designer experience in Apparel Product Design
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field (e.g. industrial design, interior design, fashion design, graphic design with product application or equivalent work experience)
- Knowledge in Softlines categories (raw materials, textiles, trims, treatments, print, pattern, graphic composition, manufacturing)
- Knowledge in garment fit and construction
- Understanding of Infant/Youth safety standards
- Understanding of graphic/artwork applications and techniques
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong product design skills (garment sketching, graphic design, illustration)
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint & Excel
- Experience with 3D garment design programs such as CLO
- Self-starter and detail-oriented
- Ability to manage multiple design projects within timelines
