Job Summary
Manage and lead the busiest produce team by assisting the Produce Manager in merchandising for maximum productivity and profit. Coordinate sales through planning, direction, and goal setting while maintaining freshness standards via proper receiving, processing, packaging, pricing, signage, displaying, and rotation. Supervise ordering, inventory controls, and product quality; unload deliveries, sort merchandise, and operate produce equipment. Assist in hiring, training, and developing staff while ensuring all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines are followed. Perform general housekeeping, clean work areas, and validate team adherence to procedures including COOL and Food Handlers permit requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a basic knowledge of math, weights and measures
- Be dependable and reliable
- Have the ability to work flexible schedule that changes; including night, weekends, and holidays

- Achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit

- Have the ability to lift, stack and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Have the ability to lift, stack and maneuver heavy objects from 4 to 72 inches
- Have the ability to lift, stack and maneuver heavy objects for a distance up 3 feet
- Have the ability to lift, stack and maneuver heavy objects for between 10 to 50 hours without mechanical assistance
- Be able to use a pallet jack to move pallets a distance up to 20 feet
- Be able to use a pallet jack requiring a force of up to 85 pounds
- Be able to use a pallet jack for up to 5 hours
