Job Summary
Manage and lead the busiest produce team by assisting the Produce Manager in merchandising for maximum productivity and profit. Coordinate sales through planning, direction, and goal setting while overseeing ordering, inventory controls, and product quality. Maintain freshness standards by supervising receiving, processing, packaging, pricing, signage, and rotation of all items. Unload deliveries, sort merchandise, operate produce equipment, and ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Assist in hiring, training, and developing team members while performing general housekeeping and cleaning tasks. Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays, lifting up to 50 lbs and using a pallet jack.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Basic knowledge of math, weights and measures
- Dependable and reliable having the ability to work flexible schedule that changes; including night, weekends, and holidays
- Outgoing and friendly behavior; a positive attitude and have the ability to interact with our customers
- Good communication skills; and the ability to take direction and participate in a team environment
- Food Handlers permit
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb throughout the entire work day
- Ability to lift, stack and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4" to 72", for a distance up 3 feet for between 10-50 hours without mechanical assistance
- Ability to use a pallet jack to move pallets a distance up to 20 feet, requiring a force of up to 85 pounds for up to 5 hours
