Job Summary
Maintain stock levels and quality of produce and floral products to comply with company standards while inspecting items for food safety and governmental labeling. Co-manage inventory using item management processes to ensure satisfactory in-stock levels and check inventory on trucks, unloading products, and ensuring accuracy of ordering and paperwork. Work with produce personnel to promote department sales, profits, and customer service through suggestive selling initiatives and appealing displays. Train and develop partners, schedule, and direct work in conjunction with upper management, reviewing historical data regarding sales, ads, promotions, profit and loss, shrink, and labor. Provide customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and responding to complaints while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 18 years of age
- Food Handler certification
- Manager Food Safety certification
- Ability to safely operate and maintain department equipment
- Ability to handle objects gently to avoid damage to items, people, vehicles, and property
- Ability to use an alphanumeric keyboard
- Ability to use precision and non-precision hand tools
- Ability to safely work with sharp objects such as knives, box cutters, etc.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well with fellow partners and promote a team environment
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, and partners in written and verbal form
- Ability to learn new technology systems, methods, and processes
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible
- Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor
- Intermediate knowledge of produce department operations
- Intermediate knowledge of in-store ordering machine and inventory management processes
- Intermediate knowledge of scheduling software systems
- Ability to operate a manual or electric pallet jack
