Job Summary
Oversee daily produce department operations, including ordering, receiving, stocking, culling, and inventory management while ensuring food safety compliance and merchandising execution. Assist customers with product selection, resolve concerns promptly, and maintain fresh, visually appealing displays to drive sales growth. Lead team development through training, coaching, and onboarding new associates, assuming full operational responsibility during the Produce Manager's absence. Support labor management, scheduling, and achieving sales, gross profit, and shrink reduction goals. Monitor temperature controls, enforce sanitation standards, and ensure proper equipment operation.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous produce, grocery, or retail experience
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier loads with assistance when necessary
- Ability to work in refrigerated areas and varying temperature environments
- Ability to safely operate department equipment and material handling tools
