Job Summary
Coordinate bulk ingredient logistics for feed mills and forecast demand to maintain stock availability. Manage contracted hauler freight rates, submit freight payments, and support weekly route truck planning from the distribution center. Prepare FDA-compliant ingredient manuals, analyze bid results, and maintain supplier relationships to ensure bio-secure transport and strategic partnerships. Assist the Procurement Manager in establishing sourcing strategies, managing inventory for seasonal shelf-life considerations, and providing updated pricing for diet formulation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of procurement or purchasing experience
- Must be willing and able to travel as business needs dictate
- Must be able to perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Must be willing and able to undergo drug, alcohol, and background checks
- Must be willing and able to provide verification of employment eligibility by the end of the third day of work
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2+ years of procurement or purchasing experience preferred
- Demonstrated sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability
- Comfortable negotiating with internal and external partners
- Strong situational awareness and emotional intelligence
- Ability to communicate confidently and professionally by phone and in group settings
- Advanced Excel experience preferred
- Knowledge of M-Tech Amino
