Job Summary
The Southbridge Secondary Level Assistant Principal (AP) will report to either the Southbridge High School or Middle School Principal, assist in leading the school, and will serve as the Principal’s proxy when necessary. The AP is a member of the school-based leadership team and works closely with the Principal to plan and implement all facets of pedagogical operation, including instructional support services and the administration and improvement of the general academic program. Primary responsibilities include leading instructional staff development and evaluation, planning professional development sessions, curriculum alignment, data-driven analysis of student performance, and fostering a safe, respectful climate. The AP collaborates with the Principal to improve instruction, monitor graduation rates, address drop-out prevention, and support day-to-day operations, with a focus on improving student outcomes and school culture. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and MA DESE Principal/Assistant Principal License (5-8) OR (9-12), plus a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience and strong leadership and interpersonal skills; bilingual Spanish is strongly preferred.

- Exceptional interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues
- Belief in the necessity of high behavior expectations and consistency in upholding those expectations
- Vision for instructional excellence
- Shared dedication to Southbridge’s mission and values
- Bilingual/Spanish language skills strongly preferred
