Job Summary
Assistant Principal serving on the school leadership team to support the Principal in providing instructional and organizational leadership for K-12 schools. Drives instructional excellence, participates in supervision and evaluation of staff, and allocates resources to improve student achievement. Acts as the school’s advocate, collaborates with stakeholders to implement a school improvement plan, builds a talented instructional team, and maintains a safe, engaging learning environment. Responsibilities include coordinating summer school, performing routine administrative duties, and communicating to diverse stakeholders. Requires a Master’s Degree in Education or related field and Georgia Leadership Certification (Tier I/II) with progression toward Tier I within specified timelines; minimum 3 years of certified school experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Education or a related field
- Must hold a Tier I or II Georgia Leadership Certification or hold a qualifying out of state Leadership Certification
- Must enroll in a leadership program that leads to Georgia Tier I certification within one year of hire
- Must complete a leadership program that leads to Georgia Tier I Leadership certification within three years of hire
- Minimum of 3 years of certified school experience required; Experience as a classroom teacher at the applicable grade level preferred
