Job Summary
Assistant Principal of Student Supports (SPED) at a high school level. Leads both instructional and school culture under the School Leader, with responsibilities to develop emerging leaders, plan for grades/departments, hire diverse staff, and ensure alignment with school-wide goals. Emphasizes data-driven instruction, supports student support and behavior intervention systems, coaches teachers on assessment and mastery toward college readiness, and ensures rigorous, high-quality instruction while advancing SPED-focused student outcomes in California. Includes collaboration on professional development, staff coaching, and school-wide planning, with a full-time, exempt position on a full school year calendar.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a B.A/B.S degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Hold a valid California teaching credential, or out-of-state equivalent credential or license
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an educator teaching students with demographics similar to the KIPP Northern California student community
- Experience in leadership or teacher-leader roles preferred (e.g., Grade Level Lead, Instructional Coaching, Content Lead)
