Job Summary
Assistant Principal of Instruction at IDEA Pflugerville Academy serves as an instructional leader, coaching and developing teachers to ensure students are on track for college. The role focuses on leading instructional staff, ensuring TEKS-aligned curricula and assessments meet ambitious goals, conducting frequent observations and data conversations to improve teaching, monitoring STAAR/EOC outcomes, coordinating campus tutoring, communicating student progress to families, and fostering a positive school culture. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred), at least 3 years of full-time teaching experience, and demonstrated teacher leadership or administrative experience. The position entails a heavy on-site commitment (minimum 40+ hours per week) and may include relocation considerations. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
- At least 3 years of full-time teaching experience
- Teacher leadership or administrative experience required
- Knowledge of core academic subject area and ability to pass IDEA content assessment
- Strong ability to coach teachers on curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment
- Ability to de-escalate student behavior
- Experience managing/coaching others preferred
- Experience with TEKS-based curricula and assessments
