Job Summary
Develop and maintain the academic program by collaborating with the principal to ensure curriculum implementation meets accreditation standards and outcomes-based goals. Lead teaching assistants and behavior specialists through interview selection, performance evaluations, and team-building initiatives to foster shared accountability. Monitor Individual Educational Plans, schedule IEP meetings, and serve as the administrative representative when the principal is absent. Maintain accurate school documentation, manage master schedules, and oversee field trips while ensuring classroom staffing meets school standards. Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, and therapeutic support within a safe, inclusive environment that prioritizes student success and compliance with safety codes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education
- Type 75 licensure
- Minimum of 5 years teaching experience
- First Aid/CPR/Infection Control/Blood Bourne Pathogen/TCI certification
- Valid driver's license
- Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements
- Must successfully pass an IL DCFS criminal background check
