Job Summary
Assist the principal in providing instructional and administrative leadership for a high school, including planning, implementing, and evaluating the instructional program; interpret and enforce local, state and federal policies; manage personnel functions and curriculum development; support scheduling, supervision of classroom instruction, and distribution of textbooks and instructional supplies; ensure student attendance and safety; communicate clearly with staff and the school community; lead faculty meetings and evaluate staff; oversee resources and building maintenance; and contribute to achieving the school’s mission under Madison City Schools’ framework and the Students First Act.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Alabama teacher’s certificate
- Master’s degree, administrative certification from an accredited college/university and three (3) years of successful teaching experience
- Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may require
