Job Summary
Supervise student discipline, monitor arrivals and dismissals, and oversee extracurricular activities while implementing school policies and administrative rules. Assist in developing instructional programs, creating master schedules, and guiding classroom setup and curriculum deployment. Observe, evaluate, and coach teachers; lead professional development sessions; and support Multi-Tiered Support Systems. Recruit and hire staff, manage team building, and proactively resolve conflicts for families and students. Prioritize multiple projects, analyze data to drive instruction, and interact effectively with teachers, parents, and board members. Requires 2+ years as an Assistant Principal or 3-5 years as a Master Teacher; knowledge of Illinois education laws and curriculum; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in an Assistant Principal role or 3-5 years as a Master Teaching driving instruction
- Knowledge of laws, regulations and policies governing education in Illinois
- Knowledge of curriculum and instructional programs at the elementary school level
- Skills to work with teachers, parents, community members and Board Members
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in written form
- Ability to prioritize and organize
- Ability to analyze data in the decision making process to drive instruction
- Persistent and intentional mindset towards the overall success of each child
- Ability to operate standard business office equipment
- Ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files
- Ability to stand, bend, reach high and low, stoop, walk around the classroom and kneel
- Ability to walk up and down stairs several times a day
- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a valid medical or religious exemption
