Job Summary
Assist in planning and executing high-quality nature-based preschool programs that meet EEC licensing regulations and NAEYC criteria, guiding young learners outdoors up to 80% of the day in any weather. Build relationships with families and members while assisting in recruiting new participants, and help supervise volunteers during community events and fundraising activities. Maintain program facilities and equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness, providing reasonable accommodations for children with disabilities. This role supports the South Shore YMCA's Nature Science Center in Norwell, MA, offering a hands-on, discovery-focused early childhood experience.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Currently attending high school, or a high school graduate
- Must pass background check: EEC background check including fingerprinting
- Assistants spend up to 80% of the day outdoors, in any weather, per this nature-based program
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with children is preferred
