Job Summary
Conduct maintenance activities on company vessels and vehicles, documenting all work in Helm Connect and Limbl. Perform inspections of vital safety systems, assist with fleet service, and manage critical spares to minimize downtime. Support the oil collection and distribution program by conducting sampling, changes, and maintaining filter inventory. Provide guidance to entry-level team members and coordinate warehouse and land facility maintenance. Ensure all equipment meets US Coast Guard and Department of Transportation standards while troubleshooting marine propulsion, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in marine maintenance or equivalent
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card
- Physical ability to climb ladders, crawl, kneel, bend, twist at the waist, and stand on uneven surfaces
- Must be able to push, pull, carry and lift objects weighing up to 100 pounds with on a regular basis
- Enter and operate in confined spaces
- Operate power tools
- Operate in environment with breathing apparatus
- Operate company vehicles
- Thorough understanding of operation, troubleshooting, and repair of marine diesel and gas internal combustion engines
- Strong working knowledge of plumbing systems and AC/DC electrical troubleshooting and repair
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing marine propulsion systems and control systems
- Knowledgeable in vehicle maintenance and general mechanical systems
- General understanding of vessel systems and how they integrate (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy in parts and record-keeping tasks
- Analytical thinking with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
- Ability to operate small heavy equipment required to maintain fleet and land facilities
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, solution-focused mindset
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Desired Qualifications
- Technical certification or formal training as a marine technician, heavy equipment, automotive, or a related field
- Experience in commercial vehicle maintenance
- Parts inventory and purchasing experience
- Aware of general principles of Inventory Management
- Previous experience with marine vessels or in tourism/hospitality operations
- SAE certification is preferred but not required
- Basic to intermediate fabrication and carpentry skills
