Job Summary
Assist Port Engineer in prioritizing vessel repairs and managing off-season and dry-dock projects. Diagnose machinery issues, oversee repairs of engines and related systems, ensure regulatory and company standards compliance, contribute to safe vessel operations, and supervise fleet engineers/technicians on the East Coast. Requires frequent ship visits for condition inspections, use of maintenance programs to track work orders, development of maintenance plans, coordination of bids and vendor relationships, and ability to travel 50-75% with a focus on safety and reliability aboard American Cruise Lines' vessels.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent related experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card)
- Must be located in the Central U.S. region
- Leadership ability
- The ability to diagnose machinery malfunctions and recommend a course of corrective action
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and machinery systems' technical manuals
- The ability to work on various computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and HelmConnect
- The ability to read and understand repair manuals
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- willingness to travel 50-75%
