Assistant Polybag Operator

Job Summary
Assist with the set up of the Polybag operation and maintenance of the equipment; train new associates at the Polybag cost center; load ink for the inkjet printer; load books/materials into polybagging feeding mechanism; move palletized loads; uphold safety procedures; read and follow job tickets and customer quality requirements; operate polybag tools; monitor machine operations for malfunctions and adjustments; fill in as Polybag Operator when needed; may handle hazardous waste; 12-hour night shift with overtime potential and a comprehensive benefits package; paid training and cross-training across electrical/mechanical systems, pneumatics/hydraulics, and exposure to PLCs; opportunities for advancement.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be a team player with a willingness to learn
- Must be able to keep up with the pace of the polybag
- Must possess strong organizational skills
- Possess the ability to perform basic math functions
- Effectively communicate both written and verbally
- The ability to troubleshoot
- Must be dependable, reliable, and responsible in fulfilling obligations
- Must be flexible and open to change when needed
- Able to follow instructions and make decisions
- Willing to work overtime when needed
- The ability to work 10 to 12 hour shifts
- Must have some printing experience
- Minimum 1-year Bindery experience
- Have an operational knowledge of the polybag
- Ability to interpret and utilize various units of measure and their conversions
- Must possess a mechanical aptitude
- Basic small packaging knowledge
- Prolonged periods of standing while setting up and operating equipment
