Assistant Polybag Operator

Job Summary
Assist with the setup of the Polybag operation and maintenance of equipment. Train new associates at the Polybag cost center; handle and load ink for the inkjet printer; lift and load books/materials into the polybagging feeding mechanism; move palletized loads with a hand truck; follow safety procedures and observation of lifting techniques; read and understand job tickets, worker orders, and other documentation; understand and carry out customer quality requirements; operate tools related to the polybag (wrenches, gauges, tape measures); monitor machine operations for malfunctions or adjustments; fill in as the Polybag Operator when needed; may handle hazardous waste as part of daily duties; perform other duties assigned by management; demonstrate teamwork, reliability, and the ability to work 10–12 hour shifts with overtime as needed; strong communication and basic math skills; willingness to learn and adapt in a manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Printing experience (preferred)
- 1-year Bindery experience (preferred)
- Operational knowledge of the polybag (preferred)
- Mechanical aptitude (preferred)
