Assistant Polybag Operator

Job Summary
Assist with the set up of the Polybag operation and maintenance of the equipment. Train new associates, load ink for the inkjet printer, lift and load books/materials into the polybag feeding mechanism, move palletized loads with a hand truck, follow safety procedures, read job tickets and customer quality requirements, operate polybag tools, monitor machine operations for malfunctions, fill in as Polybag Operator when needed, and may handle hazardous waste. Requires the ability to work 10-12 hour shifts, communicate effectively, troubleshoot, and be dependable with a willingness to learn; preferred background includes High School Diploma or GED and some printing/bindery experience. This role is on the night shift with a front half day schedule and offers overtime potential and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a team player with a willingness to learn
- Must be able to keep up with the pace of the polybag
- Must possess strong organizational skills
- Possess the ability to perform basic math functions
- Effectively communicate both written and verbally
- The ability to troubleshoot
- Must be dependable, reliable, and responsible in fulfilling obligations
- Must be flexible and open to change when needed
- Able to follow instructions and make decisions
- Willing to work overtime when needed
- The ability to work 10 to 12 hour shifts
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
- Must have some printing experience (preferred)
- Minimum 1-year Bindery experience (preferred)
- Operational knowledge of the polybag (preferred)
- Ability to interpret and utilize various units of measure and their conversions (preferred)
- Must possess a mechanical aptitude (preferred)
- Basic small packaging knowledge (preferred)
