Assistant Polybag Operator

Job Summary
Assist with the setup of the Polybag operation and maintenance of polybagging equipment; train new associates at the Polybag cost center; load ink for the inkjet printer; move books/material into polybag feeding; operate polybag feeding mechanism; monitor machine operations for malfunctions and adjustments; read and follow job tickets and customer quality requirements; maintain safety practices; perform basic math; read gauges and use common tools; may fill in as Polybag Operator; may handle hazardous waste; 10-12 hour shifts with night shift premium; overtime potential; cross-training across electrical/mechanical systems with exposure to PLCs; opportunities for advancement; strong teamwork and dependable performance.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Some printing experience preferred
- Minimum 1-year Bindery experience preferred
- Ability to read and understand job tickets and customer quality requirements
- Ability to operate hand tools and measurement tools
- Willingness to work overtime
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Able to follow instructions and make decisions
- Able to adapt to 10-12 hour shifts
