Assistant Plant Manager

Job Summary

Lead the daily operations of a high-performance manufacturing facility by championing a safety-first culture and driving continuous improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. Manage financial responsibility for the entire operation, including analyzing statements, developing product costs, achieving EBITDA margins, and controlling overhead and labor costs. Develop annual operating plans, justify performance variances, and implement corrective action plans while tracking throughput to meet customer delivery requirements. Coordinate with corporate, engineering, and sales teams, conduct Kaizen events, and monitor purchasing costs to optimize inventory and staffing levels. Travel to other Wastequip locations as required to support group headquarters and regional operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven leadership in manufacturing operations management
  • 4 year college degree
  • Knowledge of metal processing, Coil Leveling, shearing, punch press and Press breaks
  • Knowledge of metal fabricating, mig welding and painting processes
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience using ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365)
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Highly motivated and driven self–starter
  • Bilingual English – Spanish
  • Must be able to travel to other Wastequip locations, including group headquarters, as required

Desired Qualifications

  • 4 year college degree desired or a combination of equivalent experience and education
