Job Summary
Assistant Plant Manager responsible for supporting day-to-day plant operations in industrial minerals processing, including production coordination, safety training, documentation, quality and safety audits, and maintenance tasks. Responsibilities include coordinating with Safety Manager on new hire training and safety processes, preparing for customer audits and Safe Food/Safe Feed compliance, managing plant supplies and daily production reporting (DOR, bag inventory, customer bag schedules), developing weekend run schedules, maintaining housekeeping standards, mentoring team members, and driving continuous improvements. Requires High School Diploma (or higher) and at least 5 years of management experience, knowledge of fabrication and related equipment (e.g., PDD blowers, screw augers, belts, airlocks, air compressors), ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and availability for Saturday/off-hours work, with strong problem-solving, communication, and safety/quality focus.
Required Qualifications
- Education: minimum of a High School Diploma (minimum requirements for role)
- Work Experience: minimum of 5 years of experience in management
- Strong Understanding of Fabrication, Electrical, PDD blowers, Screw Augers, Belts, Airlocks, and air compressors
- Willingness to work Saturdays or off hours as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
