Assistant Plant Engineer

Job Summary
Under direction, perform engineering work for the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants and pump stations. Provide technical assistance in facility installation, modification, and equipment selection while coordinating multi-disciplinary activities including procurement and construction oversight. Prepare specifications for contracts and purchases, maintain records in the computerized maintenance management system, and conduct reliability engineering and root cause failure analysis. Perform process optimization for utilities and assist in preparing the annual O&M budget. This safety-sensitive role requires a Missouri Engineer-In-Training license, valid driver's license, and successful completion of a non-D.O.T. drug test.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil, mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible engineering experience in plant and/or pump station operations
- Licensed Engineer-In-Training in the State of Missouri
- Must possess valid driver's license issued by the state in which the employee resides
- candidate must pass a Non-D.O.T. Drug Test for this position

- Considerable skill in reading and interpreting engineering plans and specifications

- Considerable skill in forming and maintaining effective working relationships with consultants and contractors
- Considerable skill in maintaining records and preparing reports
