Job Summary
Plan support role focusing on public-facing planning operations: respond to inquiries related to zoning and planning; assist with client-facing permit centers; process minor land use entitlements (CUPs, ADUs, sign permits, plan checks); conduct site visits; review development plans for compliance with General Plans and zoning; assist in preparing staff reports for Planning Commission and City Council meetings; help prepare CEQA-related documentation and resolutions/ordinances; coordinate public notices; distribute project materials to outside agencies; assist with public workshops, EIR scoping meetings, and public hearings; support filings with State Clearinghouse and County Clerk; undertake planning studies and basic research; assist with municipal code updates and ordinance amendments; other duties as assigned; requires on-site work across Greater Los Angeles area and strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Urban Studies, Geography, or related discipline
- 2+ years of relevant planning experience
- Willingness to work on-site at client offices throughout the Greater Los Angeles area
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments
