Assistant Personal Training Manager

Job Summary
Provide high-quality personal training sessions, create customized fitness and nutrition programs, and track client progress to ensure retention. Conduct fitness consultations, convert prospects into active clients, and coach trainers on sales techniques while managing their schedules. Recruit, onboard, and develop personal trainers through regular coaching sessions and performance reviews. Monitor key performance indicators related to sales and service delivery, analyzing trends to communicate action plans to leadership. Ensure consistent delivery of the client journey, particularly during the first 90 days, and maintain accurate records using company systems. Full-time, hourly role with a combination of morning, evening, and weekend shifts; requires CPR certification and current personal training certification.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current CPR certification
- Current Personal Training Certification from one or more of the following: ACSM, ACE, Cooper Institute, IFPA, NASM, NESTA, NFPT, NSCA
- Ability to move throughout the club environment and demonstrate fitness exercises and techniques
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, coach, and train clients for extended periods
- Comfortable working in both office and fitness floor environments
- Typical schedule includes a combination of morning, evening, and weekend shifts to support member needs and business operations
- Flexibility is required to ensure adequate trainer and client support during peak hours
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Fitness, or a related field
- 1-2 years of personal training experience
- Previous leadership or management experience
- Experience in consultative sales or fitness membership sales
- Experience leading, coaching, or motivating teams
- Strong knowledge of exercise programming and personal training methodologies
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and sales skills
- Ability to coach, motivate, and develop others
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities
- Passion for delivering outstanding customer service
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and a team-first mindset
- Ability to learn and utilize company systems and fitness technology platforms
