Job Summary
Conduct classroom, lab, and simulation instruction while managing curriculum development and student competency tracking per CAAHEP and NYS DOH standards. Coordinate clinical and field internship placements, verify preceptor qualifications, and conduct site visits to ensure compliance with accreditation requirements. Support program administration by maintaining accreditation files, submitting annual reports, and advising students on academic progression and professional conduct. Assist faculty with credentialing and mentor adjunct instructors to maintain consistent delivery of course objectives. This grant-funded role involves evening or weekend hours and requires travel to clinical EMS agency sites.
Required Qualifications
- Current New York State Paramedic certification
- Certified Instructor Coordinator (CIC) per NYS DOH Division of EMS requirements (or eligible to obtain within 12 months of hire)
- Minimum 3–5 years of field experience as a practicing Paramedic
- Demonstrated knowledge of NYS DOH Division of EMS Paramedic curriculum, national EMS education standards, and scope of practice
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS credentials
- Instructor-level credential required within 6 months of hire
- Proficiency with EMS education technology, including simulation equipment, LMS systems, and competency tracking tools
- Associate degree in EMS, education, healthcare, or a related field (minimum requirement)
- Must be able to lift and operate training equipment and manikins (up to 50 lbs)
- Travel to clinical and EMS agency sites is required
- Evening or weekend hours may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in EMS, education, healthcare, or a related field
- Experience developing EMS curriculum aligned with CoAEMSP and NYS DOH BEMS standards
- Previous teaching or leadership experience in an accredited EMS program
- Familiarity with CoAEMSP Appendix G, outcomes reporting, and accreditation processes
