Job Summary
High Point University seeks a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Mathematical Sciences for a 9-month, non-tenure track position starting August 2026. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate mathematics and statistics (12 credit hours per semester), advise students, and participate in department and university service with opportunities for renewal and promotion.
Required Qualifications
- PhD or doctorate in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Data Analytics, Statistics, or closely related field (by time of appointment)
- Evidence of excellence in teaching and a record of scholarly achievement
- Ability to teach a range of undergraduate mathematics and/or statistics courses
- Willingness to advise undergraduate students and contribute to curriculum development and department assessment
- Collaborative mindset and interest in working with motivated undergraduate students
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest in collaborating with undergraduate students
- Experience supporting curriculum development and department assessment
- Interest in teaching across Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics and Statistics, and Mathematical Economics
- Record of scholarly activity and ongoing professional development involving undergraduates
- Willingness to serve on department, school, and university committees and participate in recruiting efforts
