Job Summary
Permanent, full-time Academic Transplant Hepatologist to join the Ajmera Transplant Centre at UHN/SHS. The successful candidate will spend approximately 50% of time on clinical work related to liver transplantation and transplant oncology, with the remainder devoted to research and teaching. The role includes developing an academic program in transplant oncology, contributing to clinical fellowship training, and collaborating with a large multidisciplinary team. The position offers an academic Clinician-Investigator track with opportunities for grants, publications, and teaching, and remuneration is in the range of USD 250,000–USD 350,000 via the Department of Medicine Academic Practice Plan.
Required Qualifications
- MD degree, Fellowship certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent, licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, advanced training in Transplant Hepatology and Transplant Oncology, experience in inpatient and outpatient care of complex liver transplant candidates and recipients, eligible for Clinician Investigator appointment and academic rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at University of Toronto, start date around Sept 1, 2026, eligibility for academic appointment and potential for graduate degree (MSc/PhD) and research/teaching responsibilities, contribution to clinical fellowship program in transplant hepatology
