Job Summary
Conduct clinical consultations with healthcare providers and multidisciplinary teams on laboratory testing for cancer patients, including platelet refractoriness and antibody workups. Review and approve blood product orders, evaluate antibody evaluations, and oversee HPC and MNC collection procedures for transplantation and cell therapy. Perform therapeutic apheresis procedures and review collection, infusion, and donor eligibility records. Maintain compliance with regulatory mandates and teach clinical fellows, residents, students, and technologists through lectures and supervision. Requires American Board of Pathology certification in Transfusion Medicine, an MD/DO degree, and NYS licensure. Salary range $260,000 - $425,000.
Required Qualifications
- American Board of Pathology certified or eligible for Clinical Pathology and Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine
- MD, DO, or MD PhD
- ability to obtain a NYS Medical License
- Eligibility to obtain NYS DOH COQs in the appropriate categories related to transfusion medicine/blood banking practice
- Transfusion Medicine/Blood Banking ABPath-certification or eligibility
