Job Summary
Operate individual equipment on the mill, including the coil crane, butt welder, cutoff saw, bundler, table, and/or offline, while performing area housekeeping and assisting in production operations. Troubleshoot, solve, and communicate problems to the mill crew, ensuring quality requirements are met and offline maintenance supports quick-change operations. Calibrate micrometers at shift start and during changeovers, assist maintenance in equipment repairs, and inspect tooling condition to communicate reconditioning needs. Lead health and safety work practices, participate in training, and perform preventive maintenance activities. Report unsafe conditions and ensure regular, full-time attendance. Shift runs midnight 11pm to 7am.
Required Qualifications
- Crane certification
- Commitment to safe work practices
- Predictable attendance
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Visual acuity to read and record numerical data
- Previous experience with precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Basic math skills
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms
- Ability to climb, bend, stoop, push, and pull
- Ensure regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule
- Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) activities as assigned

- Associate's degree
- Bachelor's degree
- Trade certification
