Assistant Operator - Days

Job Summary
Assist the Operator in setting up and running production lines to meet quality and efficiency standards, including die changes. Operate forklifts and powered industrial vehicles to stage materials, while performing quality checks such as length/width measurements, vacuum tests, and micrometer readings. Minimize scrap and maximize material recovery by supporting minor maintenance tasks and housekeeping duties. Ensure compliance with safety procedures and PPE requirements, and collaborate with team members across shifts for smooth transitions. Troubleshoot issues and support the Maintenance Team when needed. High school diploma or GED required; prior manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred. Forklift operation and mechanical aptitude essential. Indoor manufacturing facility with heat exceeding 90°F and noise levels above 85 dB.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
- Forklift and industrial vehicle operation experience
- Ability to read a tape measure and document quality data
- Safety-conscious mindset and ability to follow standardized work instructions
- Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 12-Hour Rotating Shifts | Includes Rotating Weekends
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs)
- Repetitive use of hands, wrists, shoulders, knees, and other joints
- Occasional stair and ladder climbing
Desired Qualifications
- Prior manufacturing or warehouse experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
