Job Summary
Manage daily operations for assigned company assets, including tractors, trailers, drivers, and facilities, while ensuring DOT compliance, OSHA safety standards, and C-TPAT best practices. Coordinate employee discipline, time management, and payroll submission for clerical staff, logistics specialists, supervisors, and drivers. Conduct ride-alongs to validate route usage and safety checks, lead incident investigations, and monitor driver KPIs and productivity goals. Plan equipment maintenance, establish vendor relationships, and complete daily yard inspections. Support the terminal manager in hiring, performance reviews, and fostering an engaged culture through effective communication with customers and associates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in management, transportation related field
- Class D driver's license
- Eligible to be insured under the applicable Company Motor Vehicle Insurance policies
- Working proficiency of transportation software which includes TMW, Peoplenet, Speedguage, Rand McNally, Inventory in Motion (IIM), PCMiler, Time Clock Management (TCM), TracKing, Skybitz and SSRS reporting
- Knowledge of transportation fleet modelling
- Knowledge in Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and CTPAT
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to effectively represent the Company in a positive manner interacting with clients, customers, co-workers, drivers, and the general public
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree and four years' experience with a reputable transportation provider in an operations, logistics, or terminal management role
- Two years of experience with a reputable transportation provider in an operations or logistics management role
- Bachelor's degree in management, transportation related field and two years of experience with a reputable transportation provider in an operations or logistics management role is preferred
