Assistant Operations Manager

Job Summary
Coordinate and supervise staff and contractors for daily maintenance, event setup, conversions, and tear-downs at the Convention Center. Direct operations including staffing, grounds, housekeeping, and facility inspections to ensure venue readiness before, during, and after events. Manage full and part-time personnel through interviewing, training, performance appraisals, and conflict resolution while developing operating procedures and safety protocols. Oversee preventive maintenance programs, cleaning tasks, and vendor agreements for consumables and services. Continuously inspect facilities and streamline work processes to improve turnaround times and ensure compliance with OSHA and safety codes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- Three (3) years related experience and/or training in the public assembly industry in an operations position
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Leadership skills and experience in supervising/training personnel
- Experience in scheduling
- Experience in time management
- Experience in purchasing procedures
- Ability to communicate verbally
- Ability to communicate in writing
- Ability to speak English fluently
- Ability to read English fluently
