Assistant Operations Manager (JO 32-26)

Assistant Operations Manager to support the Director of Operations in supervising the day-to-day transportation operations of Paratransit Services (TheHandi-van) serving ~400 employees. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations and directing Operators and Field Incident Responders; ensuring staff productivity and professional development; monitoring field operations for safety and efficiency; investigating accidents/incidents and recommending solutions; assisting with developing and implementing policies and procedures in compliance with Federal, State, and City requirements; collaborating with management to set goals and achieve department objectives; preparing reports for upper management; participating in recruitment and training of new employees; maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. Required capabilities include knowledge of ADA and transit laws, familiarity with Paratransit software, understanding of labor agreements, sound judgment, analytical skills, effective investigative techniques, strong management and supervisory skills, and clear written/oral communication; proficiency in time management and ability to work with computers and produce concise records and reports.
