Job Summary
Assistant Operations Manager on 3rd shift at Pitney Bowes Grand Prairie Presort facility (Tue-Sat, 12:00 AM–9:00 AM). Responsibilities include monitoring production schedules and capacity to determine daily/weekly requirements for equipment and people while maintaining cost per work unit and quality; monitoring and adjusting sort schemes per USPS changes to boost production efficiency; measuring and reporting key production performance indicators; ensuring USPS and internal reports and compliance; developing USPS-PSI relationships and communicating USPS regulation changes or new technology initiatives; analyzing mail volumes and postage trends to increase PSI discounts or reduce postage expense; ensuring secure, safe, reliable transportation of client mail and timely delivery/pick-up; and performing additional duties as required. Candidates should have 2–4 years of rising responsibility in production and 1–2 years of supervisory experience in a large operating center, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience in reporting, and a focus on safety and leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 2 – 4 years of experience demonstrating progressively more responsibility in a production environment
- 1 - 2 years of supervisory experience in an Operating Center averaging 5 million or more pieces per week with a 24-hour operating cycle
- Ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals and USPS postal regulations
- Knowledge of PC software programs including proficiency in spreadsheet and database applications in a Microsoft Office environment
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and promoting a safe work environment
- Leadership responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, training, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees
