Oversee a variety of patient care activities in a charge nurse capacity, including staff allocation, scheduling, patient assignments, and rounds. Ensure the delivery of safe and quality patient care by investigating care issues, coordinating admissions and discharges, and managing interdepartmental transitions. Provide direct patient care consistent with clinical registered nurse accountabilities while maintaining high visibility to patients, families, and staff. Lead human resources activities such as interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and coaching unit staff, and assist with payroll processing and budget allocation. Maintain compliance with safety, regulatory, and infection control standards while preparing for Joint Commission visits.
