Job Summary
Lead clinical operations and staff management for the Operating Room unit during evening shifts, ensuring optimal staffing, skill mix, and patient safety. Coordinate care delivery, assign staff based on clinical competency, and oversee direct patient care as needed. Evaluate staff performance, manage disciplinary actions, and support hiring, onboarding, and orientation processes. Collaborate with the interprofessional team to drive quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and accreditation compliance. Communicate critical patient safety and risk management issues to leadership promptly.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in New York State
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
- 2 Years experience
- Clinical certification in the patient population served or nurse leader certification
- Ability to apply nursing process toward achievement of specific outcomes in an organized fashion to address patient/family satisfaction and quality indicators
- Evidence of excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, critical thinking, problem solving, and leadership skills
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
- Physical stamina, manual, dexterity, visual and aural acuity to perform responsibilities
- Required to handle and move reasonably heavy weight
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing or health-related area
- Two or more years of clinical practice in the care of the patient population served
