Job Summary
Lead clinical operations for the Neonatal ICU evening shift by coordinating care delivery, assigning staff based on clinical competency, and ensuring appropriate skill mix to optimize patient safety. Manage daily unit activities including scheduling, payroll integration, and maintaining accreditation standards while providing direct patient care support as needed. Evaluate staff performance, conduct interviews, and mentor employees through coaching and progressive discipline to foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Collaborate with the interprofessional team to drive quality improvement initiatives and participate in nursing research and evidence-based practice efforts. Assist leadership in maintaining licenses and certifications for unit personnel. Communicate critical patient safety and risk management concerns to leadership on duty. Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in New York State
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing
- 2 Years experience
- Certification in nursing leadership
- Ability to apply nursing process toward achievement of specific outcomes in an organized fashion to address patient/family satisfaction and quality indicators
- Evidence of excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, organization, critical thinking, problem solving, and leadership skills
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
- Physical stamina, manual, dexterity, visual and aural acuity to perform responsibilities
- Required to handle and move reasonably heavy weight
- Registered Nurse License-NYS
- Basic Life Support Cert
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing or health-related area
- Two or more years of clinical practice in the care of the patient population served
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
