Job Summary
Assist the Nurse Manager with overall administrative and clinical leadership of the unit. Share 24-hour accountability for daily operations and patient care outcomes. Directly supervise nursing and technical staff, including assessing staff competency, managing daily staffing and scheduling, evaluating performance and addressing performance concerns. Participate in hiring, promotions, salary decisions, and terminations. Serve as a highly visible and transparent role model, promoting professional growth and supporting organizational goals. Assist in facilitating nursing orientation and nursing education. Identify opportunities to enhance staff knowledge, professionalism, and unit performance. Mentor and support staff at all levels, fostering engagement and development. Identify emerging leaders and participate in succession planning. Analyze administrative and operational processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing (Master’s required within 5 years)
- Current RN licensure
- Emergency Department experience required
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant clinical and leadership experience
- Certifications: ACLS & PALS
- Strongly Preferred: TNCC & ENPC
- NRP and STABLE required within 6 months of hire
- Current related board specialty certification required
