Assistant Nurse Manager - Med Surg Urology

Support delivery of quality patient care and participate in developing and revising unit policies and procedures. Serve as a clinical and administrative resource to staff, collaborating with physicians to plan, organize, and evaluate care. Assist with overall nursing operations, including annual planning, coordinating patient care during assigned shifts, and managing the unit in the nurse manager's absence. Participate in staffing efforts including interviewing, hiring, orienting, and retaining employees; apply progressive discipline when needed. Create a supportive work environment that promotes engagement and retention. Support staff development by identifying educational opportunities, collaborating with nurse educators, mentoring employees, and providing ongoing performance feedback. Manage a 38-bed medical-surgical urology unit with 10-19 direct reports, requiring full-time day shifts (80 hours bi-weekly).
