Assistant Nurse Manager, ICU - Forbes Hospital

Manage, supervise, and coordinate daily operations of the 20-bed ICU unit under the Nurse Manager, providing clinical and administrative leadership. Conduct monthly unit conferences, complete annual performance appraisals with peer feedback, and promote shared governance through quarterly staff check-ins and specialty certification encouragement. Identify and implement quality improvement activities to ensure patient safety standards are met, while monitoring departmental performance and developing action plans for unmet goals. Ensure effective financial plan implementation by maintaining FTE and goods/services within budget, completing variance reports, and addressing overtime use. Collaborate with patients, families, and cross-departmental teams to address concerns and meet patient experience metrics. Foster staff development through coaching, mentoring, and facilitating attendance at educational programs and peer reviews.
