Job Summary
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) serves as the administrative resource lead within the department for interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures. Will collaborate with the department manager to direct and assist staff in problem resolution and daily department management, supervise direct reports, and share responsibility for effective communication within the organization. Communicate with patients and families as needed. Implements and evaluates ongoing service programs to ensure quality nursing and patient care, aligned with Fisher-Titus' mission and values. Defines standards of department nursing care using evidence-based practices and develops processes to measure compliance. Manages regulatory/accrediting/hospital policy compliance for patient services, environment, and personnel safety. Oversees performance improvement programs; identifies and resolves real/potential problems; participates in committees; communicates organization information to staff; manages human resources to assure quality services and positive employee relations; coaches staff and documents performance; follows progressive corrective action to maintain productivity; ensures operational excellence and fiscal management of the department; achieves goals within set timeframes; upholds patient privacy and professionalism; participates in required training and education programs. Working conditions include ICU responsibilities with 2nd shift and variable shifts, with physical requirements such as standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and exposure to body fluids. Core leadership competencies include emotional intelligence, accountability, communication, leading and developing others, building relationships, business acumen, strategy, and change management. Locations include Norwalk, OH. Suggested education: Bachelor's degree.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- BSN or equivalent preferred
- Management experience preferred
- Minimum of four years of current clinical nursing experience in a hospital environment in which leadership, interpersonal skills, clinical expertise, and professional creativity has been demonstrated.
- Current state licensure in nursing
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification preferred
- Two years of critical care experience preferred
