Job Summary
Coordinate hiring, training, evaluation, and discharge of assigned unit staff while participating in unit budget planning. Facilitate patient experience initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance through routine surveillance of documentation and clinical aspects. Provide day-to-day coaching and mentoring to staff, offering real-time feedback and counseling as a role model. Assume responsibility for clinical quality and unit-based education regarding core measures and hospital-acquired conditions. Communicate clearly with the Nurse Manager and build collaborative relationships to promote excellence in care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- 3 years of nursing experience
- Current CPR certification
- Current license to practice professional nursing in Texas
- National certification in specialty area or will obtain within one year or minimal amount of time that requirements can be met
- Consistently follows the Standards of Behavior set by the Methodist Health System
- Demonstrates ability to remain flexible and adaptable to change
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking
- Fair and consistent in actions
- Handles confidential material and information appropriately
- Knowledgeable of hospital policies, procedures, and nursing care standards
- Passion for quality, safety, and service
