Job Summary
Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) leads the unit in collaboration with the Nurse Manager to achieve clinical quality, safety, and service excellence on the ICU/Cardiovascular ICU unit. Functions as a staff nurse or relief charge nurse as needed, and coordinates hiring, training, evaluation, and discharge of assigned unit staff. Requires BSN, Texas nursing license, and at least 3 years of nursing experience. Responsibilities include coordinating unit budgeting, leading unit-based education on quality care (core measures, hospital-acquired conditions, clinical documentation), driving regulatory compliance, mentoring staff, and partnering with the Nurse Manager on operations and patient experience initiatives. Strong coaching, mentoring, and computer skills are essential; must understand hospital policies and BNE regulations and demonstrate flexibility and confidentiality in a dynamic, leadership-focused nursing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current license to practice professional nursing in Texas
- 3 years of nursing experience
- Coaching/mentoring skills
- Computer literacy and knowledge of software
