Job Summary
Lead the Emergency Department day shift by monitoring patient care, adjusting staff assignments, and ensuring compliance with Emergency Severity Index scales. Manage unit staffing through payroll review in Kronos, oversee hiring interviews, and conduct staff evaluations while maintaining the Watson Model of Care. Direct ACLS/PALS protocols, facilitate patient progress through the health system, and resolve interdepartmental care issues. Develop staff competency via education, orientation, and progressive discipline, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and hospital mission values.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in nursing
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in Emergency Services
- Minimum one (1) year leadership experience
- Current California Nursing license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Must complete annual Workplace Violence Prevention Program/Certificate, per hospital policy, during initial training/orientation but not to exceed 30 days from hire/transfer
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish)
- Experience with an Electronic Medical Record preferred
