Job Summary
Coordinate hiring, training, evaluation, and discharge of assigned unit staff while assisting the Nurse Manager in achieving excellence in clinical quality, safety, and service. Participate in unit budget planning, facilitate patient experience initiatives, and conduct routine surveillance of regulatory compliance, documentation, and clinical aspects to identify and resolve problems. Provide day-to-day coaching and mentoring to staff through real-time feedback and counseling, serving as a role model and delegating special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- 3 years of nursing experience
- Current CPR certification
- Current license to practice professional nursing in Texas
- National certification in specialty area or will obtain within one year
- Must speak English in good, understandable terms
- Intact sense of sight and hearing
- Must be able to lift 10 pounds of weight
