Job Summary
Assistant Nurse Manager, Emergency Department: Coordinates patient care and personnel management for the ED. Responsibilities include hiring, training, assigning work, managing performance, conducting professional development plans, and ensuring productivity aligns with department goals. May participate in departmental staffing, revenue/expense budgeting, and adherence to budget goals. Oversees patient care according to planned interventions, documents per policy, and creates a collaborative plan of care based on assessment and medical treatment. Manages staff hours, payroll updates, time cards, bonus tracking, and coding approval; coordinates staff communications, huddles, and meetings. Determines staffing needs, makes nursing assignments including overtime, and participates in annual increases; interviews staff for open positions and conducts performance evaluations with corrective actions/coaching as needed. Responsible for staff productivity and overall departmental performance as per leadership. Education includes Nursing Diploma/Associate's; BSN preferred. Experience requirements include 2-5 years in ED with RN licensure; Magnet-recognized facilities experience is noted. Benefits information and Magnet status context are provided in the posting.
