Job Summary
Oversee clinical patient care for nursing and medical assistants while collaborating with the patient's care team to optimize clinical outcomes. Perform Nurse Manager duties in the absence of the Nurse Manager, including supervising assigned staff, establishing work assignments, reviewing timecards, and coaching employees. Monitor health center equipment needs, infection control standards, CLIA and Radiology regulations, and emergency protocols. Conduct daily patient care huddles, complete quality assurance checklists, and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. Address and resolve patient issues to enhance the patient experience, practice AIDET during interactions, and respond to all clinic codes. Assist with in-basket management, refilling medications, rooming, and triaging patients as needed. Participate in the hiring process by conducting interviews and make hiring recommendations. Support organizational initiatives to promote a positive workplace culture and serve on committees as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Two years supervisory experience working in a healthcare environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of Joint Commission standards, HIPAA regulations, and the Quadruple Aim
- Unrestricted Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Obtained through approved American Heart Association or Red Cross
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- One year experience in an ambulatory clinic setting with Specialty services
- One year nursing experience in the care of Cardiology, GI, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Podiatry, or Neurology patients in an ambulatory clinic and/or hospital setting
- Able to recognize cardiac rhythms and/or cardiac diagnostic testing experience
- Ability to start and maintain intravenous (IV) infusions
- Knowledge leading teams with patient care coordination, clinical workflow development, and nursing triage
- Experience with Epic
